Plot
Minion succeeded in his bid to unleash destruction upon existence. The Earth's heroes failed to unleash the Great Power in time to stop the collapse of the Morphin Grid and with it the fall of the Multiverse. What survived was a single reality with chunks of surviving universes interspersed with volatile void. And now as the remnant factions of darkness attempt to claim whatever territory they can find, it is up to five new heroes to sail the uncharted seas of space in search of the greatest treasure and a chance to restore existence to its former state.
Now more than ever the multiverse is vulnerable to the forces of darkness. Minion (or parts of him) is still out there; other villains fight each other to get their hands on the keys and the power they promise. Existence has tilted too far toward the darkness and only a new team of Rangers can hope to bring back the light.
Characters
Rangers
The Power Rangers and their allies are gone, lost at the moment the Morphin Grid collapsed, completely removed from space and time. In their place remains just enough residual Grid Energy to bring forth five Ranger Keys capable of unlocking the powers of the Grid Rangers. Powered by the by the last sparks of the Morphin Grid, and the last vestiges of hope, their morphers can tune into the various spectrums of energy, allowing them to assume the powers of past Rangers to aid in their quest.
Allies
Paladin - Previously also known as the Luminous One. Near the beginning of existence, Paladin was created by The One and fought to protect the cosmos from the twist evil of his own brother - the Dark One. In the aftermath of the final battle, the Dark One was imprisoned in a place beneath the Morphin Grid at the edge of existence, and Paladin was released from his role as the Luminous One and given his freedom. Over billions of years Paladin watched creation unfold, the rise of evil andthose that would oppose it, and chose to return to his previous role by assisting those that had taken up the fight against evil. It is to that end that Paladin provided assistance to the Grid Rangers.
The Emissaries - Created by the Morphin Masters to serve as messengers between the Morphin Masters and the dimension beyond. With the Morphin Grid gone, the Emissaries are rendered homeless and near powerless.
Villains
Dark Specter - Dark Specter is the lingering darkness that survived the previous existence renewed in the current existence. He was blasted into the Dark Dimension after an encounter with the First Rangers. He has been trapped their since, using agents to engineer his freedom and the conquest of the cosmos. Despite the expansion of the Dark Dimension following the conclusion of Darkness Unleashed, Dark Specter remains trapped within its boundaries, no closer to achieving his goals. He has however discovered that it is now easier for him to recruit and dispatch agents to act on his behalf.
Minion(s) - Following his final act during Darkness Unleashed, Minion ended up trapped in a reality of his own making where he is forced into a Groundhog Day style routine of restarting over and over again as he seeks a scenario that would allow him to triumph. His greatest problem is not that he has to defeat the Power Rangers and their allies, but he must defeat them without handing power to Drakkon, Dark Specter or any of the other villains that would love to step in and steal his glory.
Lord Drakkon - A dark alternate version of Tommy Oliver and ruler of his own version of Earth. Following the conclusion of Darkness Unleashed, Drakkon found himself relocated to his own reality and immediately started plotting on how to turn recent events to his advantage.
Empyreals - With the multiverse decimated and the work of The Creator in ruins, the Empyreals seek to end the disaster that is existence. Where before they would settle for returning worlds to a barren state and then allowing it to develop once more, now their aim is the simple and final oblivion.
Arsenal
Ranger Keys - Used by the Megaforce Rangers to transform. When all Ranger Keys have been collected they can be used in unison unlock the power of creation and restore existence. Or in the hands of those that desire something else, they can provide the means to reshape existence to their own desires.
Alternate Earths
World of the Coinless - Lord Drakkon's Earth that somehow survived the destruction.
Nyghtmare Realm - An Earth ruled by the Shadow Empire, where dark emotions, nightmares and the polluted ley lines combine to impose hell upon a terrifed population. Defended by the Lantern Rangers.
Battle World(s) - Also known as the Worlds of Minion, this is a reality where Minion desperately seeks the means to triumph, replaying scenario after scenario. Should Minion find the answer before reality is fully restored, he will possess the means to triumph. However, each time a scenario fails, a small piece of Minion is lost making him more desperate and less stable with each attempt to find the answer.
NOTES
Regardless of how this story concludes and who triumphs, the events leading to this series are the calamity that triggers the events of Conquest of Evil 2025.
Dark Specter's inability to free himself from the Dark Dimension is due to how little of him actually survived his encounter with the First Rangers and the Phantom Ranger. With the Dark Dimension opened, he is finally able to regain his strength.
